About Chris Cookley

Hi. I’m Chris. I’m a personal finance enthusiast* who is always thinking, talking, and writing about how to be smart with money. I take a long term approach with almost everything, there is no get-rich-quick system on this site.

Plenty of people from all stages of life need solid financial advice. There is wisdom for all ages here. But my focus is on helping the young adult who is just stepping into responsibility get started the right way. If that’s you, I hope you’ll join me.

This blog has been appearing every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday since March 2021. It is my hope that you can draw some knowledge from these posts to enhance your financial situation. I generally talk about budgeting, retirement, consumerism, money tools, and money policy.

I’m currently working on my first finance book, tentatively titled The Wealthiest Receptionist. I would love to tell you when it’s out.

My courses on financial fundamentals, and the budgeting app YNAB, have been enjoyed by thousands of people.

I also have a number of free resources available that can help guide you on your money journey. I hope you’ll use them.

I was born and raised in Southington, Connecticut. I graduated from Purdue University in 2010, and in 2013, my family and I moved to Nashville, Tennessee. After a fun (and expensive) year living downtown, in 2014 we moved again just north of Nashville, where we still live.

*I am not a professional financial advisor, investor, or licensed in anyway to be giving financial advice in any form. The posts on this site are drawn from my own experiences, beliefs, observations, and learnings that I wish to share with you. Any advice you follow, you do so of your own free will and at your own risk. That said, I’ll never post something I don’t believe in.
